Sistas’ Place, 456 Nostrand Avenue, at the corner of Jefferson Avenue, where Jazz: A Music of the Spirit Lives and Culture is our Weapon, continues its 21st season with the music of Resistance, Resilience and Resurgence. This Saturday, November 12th at 9 and 10:30pm, pianist/bandleader Anthony Wonsey leads a quintet featuring Steve Carrington on woodwinds, guitarist Huey Cox, bassist Endea Owens, and drummer George Gray.
Anthony Wonsey is one of the masterful musicians coming from the plethora of masterful musicians hailing from Chicago. Over the years of performing at Sistas’ Place, he has captured the attention of its audience while engaging in collaborations with other musicians. Last season, he led this really exciting group which we thought was terrific enough for a return engagement. Don’t Miss This!
