On Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 9 and 10:30 pm, we present the first of a dynamic series of performances to celebrate African American History Month! Composer/pianist Aruan Ortiz along with clarinetist Don Byron, cellist Lester St. Louis, and multi-percussionist Pheeroan Aklaff will perform an original work called “Pastor’s Paradox.”

In the words of the composer: “Pastor’s Paradox,” is in five parts. It explores the evolution of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s progressive views in his speeches as he expands his awareness of the devastating negative impact of systemic economic inequality and the lack of support for Black and Brown communities. This he vehemently denounced during the last stage of his prolific Civil Rights activities.” -Aruan Ortiz.

Make reservations by calling (718) 398-1766!!! Don’t miss this!!!
