On Saturday, May 14th, at 9 and 10:30 pm, we continue our Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival@Sistas’ Place with the Andrew Lamb Trio featuring bassist Hill Greene, multi-percussionist Newman Taylor Baker and the leader on saxophone. It has been many years since this completely original saxophonist graced the stage of Sistas’ Place with his presence. He has returned with a dynamic Trio that is sure to sound like a big band. Sistas’ Place, 456 Nostrand Avenue, at the corner of Jefferson Avenue, where Jazz: A Music of the Spirit Lives and Culture is our Weapon, continues its 21st season with the music of Resistance, Resilience and Resurgence. On Saturday, May 13th, 2017, at 9 and 10:30pm, French hornist, composer/educator Vincent Chancey with an all-star group that includes pianist Bertha Hope, vibraphonist Bryan Carrott, bassist Hill Greene and drummer Newman Taylor Baker, will perform.

This group performed last year and the music was as great as it should be with a stellar band of this caliber. It is bound to be even better this year. This is the last installment of the Brass Fantasy Festival at Sistas Place, so please don’t miss it!
