Sistas’ Place, 456 Nostrand Avenue, at the corner of Jefferson Avenue, where Jazz: A Music of the Spirit Lives and Culture is our Weapon, continues it’s 20th Historic Landmark Season. Saturday, March 26th @ 9 &10:30pm, we continue our Women’s History Month Presentations with Lil Phillips and Trio in Tribute to Teri Thorton.

Sistas’ Place’s most special vocalist, Lil Phillips, has chosen Women’s History Month to highlight one of the sisters in this music who is definitely deserving of our attention; the uniquely expressive and dynamic vocalist Teri Thorton. Lil will be joined by a wonderful trio of musicians, pianist Ayako Shirasaki, bassist Lyle Atkinson and drummer Malik Washington. As some might know, Lil Phillips has a recording that we play before each of our sets wherein she sings our theme song composed by her husband the late James Phillips. It is therefore always an honor to have Lil Phillips grace our stage.

Sistas’ Place in association with Melchizedek Music Productions, presents Satellites of the Sun. The entire month of April is Satellites of the Month! 

Join us this Saturday, April 5th at 7:30 pm  to see the Dick Griffin Quartet. This Quartet features Alexis Marcelo (Piano), Saadi Zain (bass), Malik Washington (Multi-Percussion), and Bandleader Dick Griffin (Trombone).
