Sistas’ Place, 456 Nostrand Avenue, at the corner of Jefferson and Frederick Douglass Square, where Jazz: A Music of the Spirit Lives and Culture is our Weapon, is in its 26th year with the music of Resistance, Resilience, and Resurgence. Sistas’ Place is a Historic Landmark Institution!

On Saturday, April 23rd, at 9 and 10:30 pm, we continue our Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival@Sistas’ Place with the Will Calhoun Quintet featuring trumpeter J.S. Williams, saxophonist Jay Rodriguez, pianist Hector Martignon, bassist Raschiim Ausar-Sahu with the leader playing multi-percussion and African percussion. Although Will Calhoun might be well known for his tenure with the group Living Color, he has a very well-studied and established background in Jazz: A Music of the Spirit. The band he has put together for this performance promises to be an exciting one!
