Sistas’ Place, 456 Nostrand Avenue, at the corner of Jefferson and Frederick Douglass Square, where Jazz: A Music of the Spirit Lives and Culture is our Weapon, is in its 26th year with the music of Resistance, Resilience, and Resurgence. Sistas’ Place is a Historic Landmark Institution!

On Saturday, May 7th, at 9 and 10:30 pm, we continue our Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival@Sistas’ Place with the Robert Rutledge/George Gray Ensemble featuring saxophonist Marquis Sayles, pianist Benito Gonzalez, bassist Alex Blake with trumpeter Robert Rutledge and multi-percussionist George Gray. The return of this project is a great thing for the music! This exciting collaboration between Mr. Rutledge and Mr. Gray has produced brilliant concerts in the past and this Saturday should be special because we will also be celebrating Robert Rutledge’s Arrival Day aka Birthday, (May 8)!
