Malcolm X, the revolutionary leader who was assassinated on February 21st 1965, left a legacy of speeches that are totally relevant to the reality we are facing today. Rachiim Ausar Sahu has organized a 20 piece big band complete with vocalists to resurrect the spirit of Malcolm.

For the last two years this project has been presented at Sistas’ Place, however, the serious challenge we are facing politically, socially and spiritually, demands the exposure of this project to a larger venue and audience.

Jazz: A Music of the Spirit is always about the intention of the composer and Rachiim Ausar Sahu is clear about his:
There is the Jemal voice or voice of beauty. There is the Kemal voice or voice of wisdom. Thirdly there is the Jelal voice or voice of power.

Come out to join us for this special night of music at Jazz 966, 966 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, NY (map/directions). Get Flyer.
