Sistas’ Place, 456 Nostrand Avenue, at the corner of Jefferson Avenue, where Jazz: A Music of the Spirit Lives and Culture is our Weapon, continues its 22nd season with the music of Resistance, Resilience, and Resurgence.

On Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 9 and 10:30 pm, we continue our Sistas’ Place/Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival with trumpeter/bandleader, Robert Rutledge, leading a very special band featuring saxophonist Gene Ghee, pianist Sharp Radway, bassist Lonnie Plaxico and drummer Dave Gibson. Robert Rutledge comes out of Birmingham, Alabama and he always plays with the spirit, courage and hope that it takes to rise above any forces that think we are less than great.The week following this performance he will be celebrating a Landmark in his life, come celebrate with us…this promises to be another great Saturday night!
