On Saturday, March 9, at 9 and 10: 30 pm, Tulivu Donna Cumberbatch, with her trio of pianist Rod Williams, bassist Raschiim Ausar Sahu and drummer Mark Johnson, will celebrate Winnie Mandela in the second installment of our Women’s History Month Presentations. This series, titled Phenomenal African Sistas in our History celebrated by Phenomenal Present Day African Sistas, this Saturday honors the First Lady of South Africa. More than a decade before Michelle Obama became the First Lady of the US of A, Winnie Mandela was the First Lady of the U of SA. Tulivu Donna Cumberbatch and her Trio have that magical touch that will bring this all together, in an incredible way.

On Saturday, December 22, 2018, at 9 and 10: 30 pm, alto saxophonist Carl Bartlett Jr will present his group performing a mixture of originals, from his latest recording, Jazz standards, and Xmas songs to get us in a celebratory mode. Along with this talented young brother will be his uncle Charles Bartlett on trumpet, pianist Julius Chen, bassist Steve Wood and drummer Howard “Kingfish” Franklin Jr. Carl Bartlett Jr has been part of the Sistas’ Place roster for a number of years because every time he appears he produces great music. Don’t miss this!!!

Blue, Alex Blake, Sharp Radway, and Baba Neil Clarke. The maestro’s Arrival Day is April 6th and we want to honor him in his community of Bedford Stuyvesant. Need we say more?

Fay Victor is a remarkable vocalist. She has appeared at Sistas’ Place on a few occasions with other musicians. This Saturday, she presents the concept.
