Sistas’ Place, 456 Nostrand Avenue, at the corner of Jefferson Avenue, where Jazz: A Music of the Spirit Lives and Culture is our Weapon, continues its 21st season with the music of Resistance, Resilience and Resurgence. On Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 9 and 10:30pm, we present Charles Tolliver’s New Music Incorporated with guitarist Bruce Edwards, pianist David Bryant, bassist Kim Clarke and drummer Darryll Green.
Master trumpeter/composer/arranger/educator, Charles Tolliver opens up a month long festival of prominent Brass Players at Sistas’ Place for our contribution to the Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival.
Mr. Tolliver, one of the great musicians of this generation, always leads exciting bands and is always creating special moments with the music. To be guaranteed a seat, you must make reservations early!
The other brass players featured in this Central Brooklyn/Sistas’ Place Jazz festival series include trombonist Craig Harris, trumpeter Ahmed Abdullah, trumpeter Robert Rutledge and French hornist Vincent Chancey.
