The Institute of Pan-African Music Arts and Culture was born out of necessity and the spiritual & philosophical inspiration of our ancestors, sheroes/Heroes, and cultural icons whose lives, music & scholarship continue to give inspiration. These icons of the African Diaspora/Culture whose philosophies are predicated on the beliefs that as people of African descent in the diaspora we must create institutions that are reflective of who we are as a people, intellectually, spiritually & culturally. The nucleus of this philosophy emanates from the bandstand as the sacred ground where our predecessors’ spirits, rituals & cultural practices are honored, praised (elevated), and where our future is envisioned & innovated. There are specific artists whose work and life’s commitment to Pan-African culture have set the foundation for the work we continue to propagate.
Please feel free to share the link below with other like-minded individuals interested in Pan-African Music, Arts, and Culture. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone for this special event.
